Spectate vs Atlassian Statuspage

The Statuspage alternative with monitoring built in

Status pages that follow your incidents, with the uptime checks, on-call and alerting that open them. Same JSON format as Statuspage, so widgets and integrations keep working.

The short version

Which one fits you

Atlassian Statuspage: Statuspage is Atlassian's hosted status page product for public, private and audience-specific pages, with subscriber notifications by email, SMS and webhook. It doesn't monitor your services itself.

Choose Spectate when

  • You want monitoring, on-call and incidents behind the status page, not a separate tool for each.
  • You want more subscribers for less: 2,500 on Team at €48 a month.
  • You want 8 themes, colour overrides, 8 fonts and 6 languages without custom CSS.
  • You want the Statuspage JSON format, so existing widgets and integrations keep working.

Choose Atlassian Statuspage when

  • You run Jira Service Management and want status pages in the Atlassian suite.
  • You need audience-specific pages that show different components to different customer groups.
  • You need SMS notifications to subscribers. Spectate sends subscriber updates by email, RSS and Atom.
  • You need SSO or Atlassian's compliance programme.

FAQ

Spectate and Atlassian Statuspage

Is Spectate cheaper than Statuspage?

For most teams, yes. Spectate Team costs €48 a month and includes 5 status pages, 2,500 subscribers, unlimited members and 80 monitors. Statuspage Startup costs $99 a month for 1,000 subscribers and has no monitoring.

Will my Statuspage widgets and integrations keep working?

Most will. Every Spectate status page serves the Statuspage JSON format: summary, status, components, incidents and scheduled maintenances under /api/v2/. Tools that read that format can point at your Spectate page.

Can I import my Statuspage history?

There is no importer. Components and settings take a few minutes to recreate, and help@spectate.net can help with larger pages. Past incidents don't come along.

Can subscribers get SMS updates?

Not on Spectate. Subscribers get email with double opt-in, or follow the RSS and Atom feeds. If SMS to subscribers is a must, Statuspage supports it from the Startup plan.

Does Spectate monitor my services too?

Yes. Spectate checks websites, APIs, ports, DNS and mail servers, watches certificates, domains and servers, and pages whoever is on call. Status pages show component status from your incidents and maintenance.
